Matt Munday is a British illustrator, printmaker and designer based in London. He is known for his bold, graphic visual language — fluid figures, wavy characters and abstract shapes rendered in bright, high-contrast palettes. His work captures overlooked moments from everyday life, transforming them into playful, rhythmic compositions that feel both spontaneous and carefully constructed.

Originally trained in animation, Munday began his career working across creative sectors including fashion and sport before establishing himself as a freelance illustrator. His background in movement and character design continues to inform his practice, with gesture and interaction sitting at the core of his image-making.

His work spans commercial illustration, branding, fashion collaborations, print editions and gallery exhibitions. He has collaborated with global brands and cultural institutions including Nike, Barbican, On Running and . Alongside commissioned projects, his prints and artworks have been exhibited in galleries across the UK.

 

Matt's visual language is immediately recognisable — expressive, character-led and rooted in a balance between graphic precision and playful abstraction.
