How I made sales at the Independent Label Market

Hi there, welcome to my first long form post!
I am writing this on the Monday after an amazing weekend filled with cheer, connections, print sales, sunny weather and good beers at the Independent Label Market at Coal Drops Yard in Kings Cross.

It was my second year here and after a slump in my screen sales I have been questioning whether to keep making art or just give up and focus solely on illustration, but after the positivity I received and sales made, it has shaken me out of my negative head space regarding my printmaking.
I was blown away by the support, kindness and conversations I had over the weekend. It really does make you realise that in a time of division, negativity and hate, getting together in real life, off of social media is what it is all about and something I will definitely focus on for the foreseeable.
Last year was successful but this year was on another level and think it is down to a lot better planning, a better stand appearance and a more targeted approach to the theme of the market in some of my new work! (Also not being a wind tunnel i think helped!)
I priced everything a little bit lower than last time, as it was too close to gallery prices last year. I also gamified one of the items, with a 'Bargain Tote Surprise' where each tote bag had a secret vinyl inside, people loved getting involved in picking one.

I have to also mentioned a couple of my amazing neighbours on the day. From London Drying, to my newest and most favourite pals at the Good Neighbors who are doing groundbreaking work turning old plastic bottles into vinyl. I cannot wait to see what comes next from them, you have to go and check out the work they are doing.

Finally, I just want to say a huge thank you to the people running the Market itself, they put so much work in, working with the labels, artists, breweries, bands and customers, it really has been the best day of the year so far! Make sure you give them a follow and hopefully I will see you at the next one!
